Hi friends, happy fall! And a very happy return to cozy cooking season to you all! I’m feeling very ready for it this year.
When I want cozy dinner for two in a hurry, a sausage skillet dinner is always an easy solution. My favorite local butcher makes the best sausages, and I love that I can buy them by the piece rather than a whole package and have just the right amount for dinner. I’ve recently been obsessed with their Chicken Toulouse sausages, which are seasoned with garlic, mustard seeds, and nutmeg. These flavors pair perfectly with the apples and autumnal cruciferous vegetables in my new skillet dinner. If you can’t find a similar style sausage, a mild Bratwurst sausage works equally well. And yes, this dinner also works equally well with chicken or pork sausage—you take your pick!
